Annie Get Your Gun
BEAT is presenting the world famous Broadway musical Annie Get your Gun, sporting a revised libretto by Tony, Oscar and Emmy winner Peter Stone. This is joined by that amazing Irving Berlin score, featuring hit after hit after hit including: ‘There’s No Business Like Show Business’, ‘They Say It’s Wonderful’ and 'Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better.' Stone reshaped the play to create a Wild West show-within-a-show that frames the ageless love story of sharpshooters Annie Oakley and Frank Butler.
Stone added a secondary romance between Frank's bothersome assistant (the younger sister of Dolly) and a boy who is part Native American. The book has been updated to bring Native Americans' to their rightful place; on equal footing with their Caucasian counterparts. This is done while retaining the great joy and fun of the memorable 1946 production. This musical comedy battle of the sexes is sure-fire shot to attract audiences.
