Are you crafty and artistic?  Looking for a new way to express your crazy amazing talents?  Come spend a super fun day at BEAT learning how to make, and perform with, all kinds of masks!  No experience necessary, just bring your imagination!

Calling all young voice actors! Do you love doing all kinds of exciting character voices?  Join professional voice actor and sound designer, Barbara Rich from Richcraft Studios for this amazing one-day Radio Play Intensive!  You will spend the day learning and performing a short radio play, sharpening your voice acting and character skills.  No experience necessary.

Sometimes, you just gotta move!  In this super fun two-day summer class you will learn how to use one of your most creative actor's tools... your body!  Whether you are moving to music, or learning to build a crazy character with your body, you will explore so many ways to use your movement to help tell a story.  Moving is so fun!  No experience necessary.

What could possibly be a better way to kick off your summer fun than with some singing and dancing?!  Come join us for two days of Musical Theatre camp and get your summer joy flowing!  No experience necessary.

Yes, theatre is an adventure!  And the best way to start an adventure is by sharpening all our adventure tools, through games!  In this two-day class we will play a wide variety of hysterical games that will work on engaging our Actor's Tool Box – our faces, our bodies, our voices and our imaginations.  This is a wonderful way to try out theatre for the first time, or feed your passion for more theatre fun!  No experience necessary.

Did you know that Shakespeare's rhythms match amazingly well with modern Hip Hop beats?  That's right!  You can take many of Shakespeare's most famous lines and perform them to your favorite hip hop rhythms.  Come join us in this two-day summer class to play with wonderful words and wonderful music.  No experience necessary.

Ahoy Mateys! Where be a pirate without his ship? In this 4-day summer camp our swarthy actors will create the perfect pirate ship set and perform a tall tale for the high seas... with sea shanties, of course.  Yo ho, yo ho, the pirate's life at BEAT!  No previous treasure hunting experience necessary.

Is drama a regular feature at your house?  Well, let's get that drama ready for the stage!  In our Junior BEAT classes we work with 7-9 year old actors to introduce what being in a play is all about.  It's so fun to have lines, and play with props and costumes!  Theatre is the best!

Once upon a time at BEAT... many fairy tale characters needed costumes and a crazy story to tell!  This 5-day summer camp is the perfect opportunity to explore the role of costumes in creating a character, and in turning traditional fairy tales on their heads!  Come play in a land of imagination and twisted storytelling.  No big bad wolf experience necessary.

Improvisation is one of theatre's most fun and challenging skills.  In this BEAT the Heat class we will spend four days learning all about our favorite Improv games where we flex our creative muscles and practice thinking on our feet!  Or on the floor.... or sitting in a chair... or standing on one foot... or...

No experience necessary.

There is so much more to the theatre experience than standing in the spotlight.  Stories are told through lights, dance, acting, costumes and SOUND.  You can make stories scarier, funnier, or more emotional by adding all the right sound effects.  In this class, join professional voice actor and sound design artist, Barbara Rich from Richcraft Studios to learn all about how sound makes storytelling even more exciting.  No experience necessary.

It is advantageous if students can bring an iPad or laptop to class to play with Sound Design.  If that is not possible, please let us know.

We don't know about you, but we LOVE comedy!  Some of the funniest comedy out there is made with our physical silliness.  In this 4-day class we will explore all kinds of ways to make theatre funny with our bodies and how we react to the environment around us.  Maybe you try to brush your teeth with a shoe, or run smack into a door, or try to carry awkward objects... whatever it is, we are going to make ourselves and others laugh!  No experience needed, just a sense of humor and adventure!

Do we love Musical Theatre? Yes, we do!! Can we sing and dance? After this class we will! Come join your fellow musical theatre lovers and sing and dance to some classic favorites. Learn how music and dance are integral to storytelling and the sharing of the human experience. No experience necessary.
